Our Community
Wilde School, Blue Mountain thrives on working and playing together. Throughout the year there are many activities and events that the we host and take part in that allow for bonding and togetherness beyond the usual school day.

We Create our Environment Collectively
We are collectively creating an environment where curiosity thrives, friendships flourish, and the potential within each and every student is realized. Wilde School, Blue Mountains is truly grateful for our community of students, parents, staff, and donors for their ongoing trust and support.
Parent Social Events
Our parents are very social! There are plenty of excellent opportunities for networking and community building at events such as seasonal markets, holiday concerts, etc.
We have a coffee social at the Wilde Café on the last Friday of every month. This is a chance to meet other parents and chat with some of our directors and staff. There are typically held outside in all weather conditions.
We also have larger events throughout the year such as; tailgate parties, races (or Loppets as we call them), an art show, family fun day, & Holiday Markets.
Parent Group Chats
We create a Parent Group chat for each school year. The chat can be used for all communication WILDE School related: gear swap, school announcements, updates, events, carpooling, etc.
Each class also has it's own, dedicated group chat where parents can connect directly to their child's teacher and with other parents of children in the same class. This is great to coordinate birthday parties, last-minute pickups, and of course - playdates!
Parent Volunteers
We plan lots of events throughout the school year which would not be possible without the assistance of parent volunteers. Pancake breakfasts, coffee socials, holiday markets, concerts, and assistance on field trips are a few of the activities for which we greatly appreciate our parent volunteers.
Regular Communication
At the beginning of every month, parents receive an email from your child's homeroom teacher breaking down what is going to be happening that month. Parents also receive regular emails from our Leadership Team with all the general school announcements for the week.

We revisit this plan halfway through the year and re-evaluate its trajectory.

WILDE School starts at 8:45am and ends at 3:30pm (unless your child is in a club, these programs typically end at 4:30pm). We highly encourage parents to drop their children off right at 8:45am.
The first block of the day (25 min) is for free play (or water cooler time as Jeff calls it), we also offer study hall during this block. This is vital for students' morning routine to transition.
There is a lot of research surrounding the importance of transition times in students' daily routines in which they can free play, socialize and ground. It allows for students to ‘let a little air out of the tires’, which is very important for most students' concentration levels.
We encourage parents to communicate with your child's teacher first, coming to the team of directors if you need further support. At WILDE School we teach our students to be proactive problem solvers and not let any problems grow because they were left unattended.
