Wilde Times - Volume 002 - March 2026

On February 20th, 2026, our school hosted our first ever annual WILDE Winter Olympics, and it was a blast! Students competed in multiple different fun Olympic events, including bobsledding, luge, speed skating, figure skating, biathlon, and ski jump. Even though the weather kept changing between rain, snow, and even hail, everyone persevered and made the best of it.
The event was organized and run by Student Council, who planned the activities, helped run each station, and judged the events throughout the day. Students competed in their houses, Tides, Forest, Animals, and Earth. Each house worked together to decide who would be the best fit for each activity. When a house won an event, they earned points for their team.
At the end of the day, Forest House came in first place with a total of 82 points! The other houses, Tides, Animals, and Earth, followed close behind. Overall, the Wilde Winter Olympics was a success and brought our school together for a day full of teamwork, laughter, and friendly competition. We will be doing it again next year!

AUTHOR: THE MARTENS CLASS
A ski resort in your own backyard? It's no longer just a dream! The Marten class built their own ski mountain this year, complete with instructors, groomers, and a ski patrol. Founded by Ronan Cremen and Elliot Melekhov as a couple runs through the trees, the resort has expanded to include approximately 24 runs, two up-trails, and for a while even included a terrain park.
As the resort expanded, Archer Gerard quickly realized it would be best to have a ski instructor to help other classes understand how to safely navigate the runs. His instructor services helped the resort avoid closure when things threatened to become a free-for-all. Meanwhile, Sam jumped in with ski patrol services to help with stuck skiers and pretend injuries. Although the terrain park had been introduced for show, some students decided to try to use it during school hours and the White Mountain Staff decided it was best to close the park.
Groomers work nightly to bring fresh trails which have featured races as well as fresh corduroy on trails. Stay tuned for the results of the upcoming Olympics!

On Friday February 27th, grade 4-8 we're treated to a dogsledding experience. What a time to be at WILDE! Even though the lines seemed endless, the experience was worth it! It was amazing to learn about our dogsledding thematic with professionals and their dogs. They got to pet the dogs and the dogs were super friendly! They demonstrated how to put a dog harness on and some lucky students even got to try it themselves! Throw in the fact all students got to experience a dogsledding run and grade 8's got to mush their own little team of dogs! It was a day none of us will forget! Special thanks to Green Feet Ecosystem Services Dogsled Rides for visiting us at WILDE!
